How to get more Google reviews

Most happy customers will leave a review if you ask and make it quick. Send the link the same day the job is finished. A short, personal message beats a long one.

Put the QR code where customers already are: on your invoice, at your counter, on a card you leave after a job, or on the back of your vehicle. Print it at least 2 cm wide and test it with your own phone first.

Ask every customer the same way. Google does not allow paying or rewarding people for reviews, or asking only the customers you expect to be happy. Reply to the reviews you get, good and bad.

Google review link questions

Where do I find my Google review link?

Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile and search for your business name on Google. In your profile panel, choose "Ask for reviews" (sometimes shown as "Get more reviews"), then copy the link. It usually starts with https://g.page/r/.

What is a Place ID?

It is the code Google uses for your business on Maps, for example ChIJ followed by letters and numbers. Google's free Place ID Finder shows it. Paste it here and the tool builds a review link in the format https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by your ID.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google's rules do not allow rewards for reviews, and they do not allow asking only happy customers. Ask every customer the same way and let them say what they think.

When is the best time to ask?

Soon after the job is done, while the customer still remembers it. A short WhatsApp message on the same day, with the link, is easy for them to act on.

Does the QR code expire?

No. It holds your review link itself, not a redirect through another service, so it keeps working for as long as that link works.

Is my link sent to Shift Local?

No. The QR code and messages are made in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent to us.
